History

The “Alexander Insurance Agency” was established in 1915 and has been an important part of the Bradford, (Gibson County) Tennessee business community for the past 90 plus years. The Alexander Agency has been continualy owned and operated by Alexander family members.

Bobby Joe Alexander, a third generation agent, took over the family business upon the passing of his father Paul J. Alexander in 1961.

Bobby Joe’s youngest son Robert T. (Tommy) Alexander went to work for the agency in 1983 and later became general manager. Tommy has owned the agency since 1996 and moved it to its current location at 149 East Main Street in Bradford.

In 2006, the assets and talents of Alexander Insurance Agency, local agent Mark A. Hampton and the Westan Insurance Group of Union City, Tennessee merged to form Westan Insurance - Bradford.

Mark Hampton has over 15 years experience in commercial insurance working as a direct agent for John Deere Insurance, which later became Sentry Insurance.
